Course Title: Succeed at Work - How to Manage Local Employees Effectively

Course Summary:

Good managers understand that effective management is a two way street: both the manager and their direct reports need to be able to communicate in a way where there is nothing lost due to language or cultural differences. This course is the partner course to the course “Succeed at Work -  How to Manage Local Employees Effectively” – helping local staff to understand the differences between being managed by a local manager versus being managed by a foreigner. This short module is designed as a starting point to cover some of the most important and immediate differences in order to begin building a strong relationship with your manager and before diving into the more specific or subtle differences covered in later courses. In four sessions, we will cover topics on management theory, English vocabulary and phrases specific to management, and soft skills education such as having difficult dialogues, and giving or receiving praise.
